Creativity to me is something that is different from person to person, a skill that makes your work unique. Everyone is creative in their own way. A certain style that is used to describe yourself, some are more creative in the fields of art, while others are more creative at finding solutions to problems. :
-DEFN: Creativity is defined as the tendency to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining ourselves and others.
My first idea of an example of creativity would be of the band 'Chiodos'. They have a unique sound mixed with unusual song titles. And their lyrics are amazing., I love them.

Straw Project:
My partner and I made a strudy base to help support the height of the tower. We had a rectangular design and used the straws as vertical posts.
Three Problems:
1) We didn't have enough tape to make the entire tower sturdy
2) Time was up before we could finish building up
3) the structure had to be changed because of time limit so it ended up being less sturdy at the top causing it to tip over.
We used a different method for putting the straws together and changed the design of the tower. And we used small amounts of tape so no tape was wasted.
If we had enough tape, we would have finished it. This way, we wouldn't have needed to think of a new idea. Also if we used more straws, the tower could have been more sturdy.
Our tower started off very successful and up to about half way it stood on its own. However, as we kept making it higher it became wobbly and started to fall over and the slightest touch would make it fall over.
Out of the box ideas:
1) Cut the straws into thin pieces to use as string to save tape.
2) Ask other groups for materials they weren't using.
3) Combine as a class to create one big standing tower so everyone could've accomplished the goal.
Paper Structure Project.
In this project, we were told to make a paper structure that could hold books, the group with the structure holding the most books, won.
In my group we used four triangular shapes in order to hold up books. We used four because we wanted equal weight distribution.
We first cut the paper into four equal parts, then folded those parts in half. Next we folded the parts into thirds to create the triangle shape, and finished it by folding and taping the unconnected side. We then wrapped tape around the sides, thinking it would create a more stable structure.
From looking at other groups structures, you can see that, groups that used multiple, smaller structures were more successful. And making the structure not that tall also helped because it would give it more of a risk of collapsing.
The winning group used many circle shapes and taped them together, this was for the equal weight distribution, to help spread the weight of the book more evenly.

Some problems that we had while constructing our model were; fitting in the slats that connected the four main supports. Cuttting out the slits for the slats was sometimes difficult because you have to line up all the four supports to make sure when they are put together they line up properly. Overall, the chair was easily put into one piece. Some things I have learned: Bringing in everyones ideas to create this type of project is sometimes unsuccessful. People sometimes disagree but they work together to form an even better model than before. I believe that our group was cooperative and worked together well.

For this project, our group [ Joe Evans, Melissa Moshier, Stacie Buchheit, Mitch Anderson, Dutch B., and Ryan Dillion ] decided to go with a water balloon 'cannon'. It consists of two pieces of 2x4's that have a metal rod holding up the PVC pipe. Inside the pipe is a smaller pipe which will hold the water balloon. A square piece of regular wood will be attached to the smaller PVC pipe and bungee cords will then be connected to that. This will be what 'launches' the balloon. The smaller pipe and wood will be pulled back, and the tension from the cords will make the pipe containing the balloon, propel forward after they are released. Some of the beginning ideas that our group had, were to use the force of a CO2 tank, but that would have been too difficult. So, we started to think of more simpler ideas that would be successful. We searched online to get a basic idea of what a typical balloon launcher consisted of. Then we added our own ideas. Leading our group, Joe Evans brought in the idea of using springs. So, we thought of trampoline springs, but after we found out that these springs were too powerful for the task we were trying to complete, we had to think of a new idea. We then decided the use of bungee cords was a better alternative. Aftre putting enough of the parts together, we decided to do a test shot. Two people held the pipe straight, and Joe, pulled the bungee cords back, and let it go. The smaller pipe within the larger pipe shot out at a quickly and I think we are were impressed with the velocity of the small pipe. The most difficult part of this project, in my opinion was that, we had to decide on how to put everything together, and how it was going to stay together while it is in use. It had to be something that could withstand the power of the bungee cords springing forward.
